Moleskine Giveaway!

The good folks at Chronicle Books must have noticed my love for all things Moleskine, because they contacted me a month ago to see if I would host a Moleskine giveaway on my blog. Naturally, I said YES PLEASE!

A month later a big box full of lovely Moleskiney goodness arrived at my doorstep.

Unfortunately the catch is that the winners must live in the US. But WAIT! If you live in Australia like me (or anywhere else in the world outside the US), never fear, I've found a way to include you too.

Kiss Lock Love

I went to the Post Office this morning to collect a mystery registered post item - and it turned out to be this kiss lock purse I bought from Only Midge.

I actually found it when browsing a gift store in Fremantle on my birthday and fell in love with the merry-go-round material of its exterior. I came home and had a look at their website to see the full range but in the end opted to stick with the first one I had spotted! Speaking of spots, the interior is super cute, no?

 

It's a lot bigger than most of the kiss lock purses you see around the place, as I can fit my bulky mobile (size of a blackberry), fat wallet, lip balm and keys in there pretty easily. How nifty!

The Only Midge site is worth checking out - you can mix and match your own bag style and fabric to make your perfect bag.

To Market, To Market...

Time to share some recent market purchases with you! Today I went to Upmarket in the Perth Town Hall and bought a few goodies. Above is a print by Scarlet and The Sea, which I am so in love with, don't you think it's excellent? It looks like a barrage of feathers escaping from the birdcage, how lovely and surreal. Just my kinda thing!

I haven't framed it yet but I did lay it on top of a simple black frame for the photo so that it would stand out more.

 

I also bought some lovely bakers twine (the red and white one) and some stripey christmas ribbon from craftapalooza.

And...(there's more!). Here's the amazing hand carved stamp I bought from Made on the Left a couple of weeks ago. It is from the very sweet Magali Dincher who I had a lovely chat with. She was at Upmarket today, too =)

 

I am going to make all my Christmas present tags this year, using this stamp and perhaps some nice brown paper and ribbon. I bought some gold ink especially, which should look good!

The best part is that I can re-use it for birthdays too, as it's not necessarily just for Christmas. Nifty!

Quinninup

Last week Mr Bini and I took a road trip down south about 4 - 5 hrs away from Perth to a little town called Quinninup (near Pemberton - not to be confused with Quininup with one 'n', near Dunsborough!).

It was a lovely little getaway which was very overdue after a long semester of uni!

Calling All Melbournians!

If you live in Melbourne or know an arty friend who does, pull out your camera and take part in Photography Night Walks! They're being held every Thursday evening from 14th January to 18th February 2010 at different locations around Melbourne CBD (see above poster for more details, or email photographynightwalks@gmail.com).

The walks aim to inspire budding photographers and provide a creative network for photography enthusiasts of all levels and experience.

Best of all they are being run by my fabulously talented sister, Jess!

It sounds like such fun - I wish I lived a few thousand k's closer...
