Oops - so much for posting the next day! Oh well, the start of the holidays are always busy for me because I often have a long list of things I've been waiting to do and I get stuck right into them, which leaves little time to blog.
Mr Bini and I made a trip to the library on the first day and borrowed a big pile of books each. At the moment I'm really getting into Milan Kundera's novels. I read The Unbearable Lightness of Being a couple of years ago and liked his writing style (though I thought the story translated poorly into film as the plot was not the book's strength but rather his beautiful writing). I'm reading Life is Elsewhere right now (which I'm enjoying even more; the writing is brilliant) and will move onto Immortality next. Yay!
Today I got up at 6:30am to go search for treasures at Karrinyup swap-meet but it wasn't on because the shopping centre it is held at is open today due to the sales (or so I presume). Bugger! We were going to go to Melville instead but it was sooooooo freezing so we ended up just going to a few garage sales and then headed back home to bed!
One of my finds was this lovely turqoise vase for $2. I thought it looked quite unique with its skinny shape and dots. The last thing we need is another vase; we have a million of them. But I liked this one and figured it was cheap!
I also bought an old briefcase for $5...
I'm thinking that I might use it as part of my market display if I get accepted into the upcoming Made on the Left craft market.
This is the 4th MOTL market and the very first one that I'll be available to go and visit! Hopefully I will also be selling there if my application is approved. How exciting!
Hope you are all having a lovely lazy Sunday!
